Description

The Law Clerk will assist the in-house counsel team with various real estate, land use, and corporate matters. There will be an emphasis on legal research and transactional legal work. The primary goal for a legal intern is to assist and provide support with reseaching, preparing, and reviewing  various legal documents.

 

Responsibilities

Major Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of working on an in-house counsel team.
  • Review and make suggested revisions for contrct documents.
  • Assist with the review of legal documents during due diligence which includes title, survey, zoning, and entitlements.
  • Improve the legal team’s knowledge of changing laws through legal research efforts.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing and reviewing contracts, closing statements, and other legal documents.
  • Attend relevant internal and external meetings regarding development, construction, and property management.
  • Support counsel team members.
  • Research relevnt laws concerning issues of importance to the Company and provide findings to General Counsel.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and for multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and with team of professionals as needed.

 

Required Education:

  • Currently enrolled in law school.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Skills and experience with marketing, public speaking, and presentations is a plus.

  • Relentless problem solving skills.
  • Ability to anticipate.
  • Must understand the difference between causation and correlation.
