Events and Venues Intern
Description
The SJCPL Events and Venues team is looking for a motivated, creative, and engaged person to help us manage and maintain the new events space at Main Library. The Community Learning Center holds space for patrons to reserve for classes, weddings, parties, or anything else they can think of! During this paid internship, you will support the department in preparing for and carrying out library and patron events.
A job at SJCPL is a chance to give back to the community while also gaining real life experience in a dynamic and challenging environment. People who work at a Library are committed to public service (and also get to spend their day surrounded by books.)

Responsibilities
Once here you will:
- Assist with event set ups
- Consult with patrons about their event needs
- Learn about audio-visual equipment and assist with set up.
- Support department staff with paperwork processing
- Complete a capstone project that helps us engage more authentically with our community.
Qualifications
Relevant experience:
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Comfortable using Internet, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Windows and Mac OS as well as Library audio-visual equipment
- Community-minded
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exercise initiative, be enthusiastic, creative, flexible, energetic, value diversity, and possess a sense of humor.
