IvyCares Assistant

Description

The IvyCares intern provides support services to the Richmond campus of Ivy Tech Community College.  This position will work with Ivy Tech students on an individual basis to help them overcome obstacles to academic and personal success.  This primarily involves identifying challenges, strategizing solutions, referring students to needed resources, and following up with students to further support and motivate them.

Responsibilities

- Maintain confidentiality of student interactions.

- Document student interactions, resource and referral plans.

- Maintain student interaction, resource and referral plan records for reporting purposes.

- Maintain inventory of basic necessities storage area.

- Follow up with students as necesssary.

- Become knowledgeable of Ivy Tech's resources and community resources.

- Work with Foundation and College staff closely for obtaining and distributing student assistance.

- Utilize strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

- Must be enrolled as a student at Ivy Tech Community College with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

- Must be an outstanding team player, have excellent customer service skills and possess a professional demeanor.

- Must be proficient with MS Word and have experience with various software applications.

- Requires a self-motivated, outgoing, detail orientated and highly organizaed individual.

- Good grammar, oral, and written communication is essential.
