Description

Kids Coats provides gently-used winter coats to families in Hamilton County, IN at no charge. We are different from other coat distributions in that we take the coats to where the people live! We partner with local churches in Hamilton County. Central Indiana organizations join us to connect families to other opportunities available to them at little or no cost.

We are seeking a marketing administrative intern who can contribute fresh ideas, create content, and effectively reach our constituents and benefactors. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our all-volunteer staff to develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of brand marketing, social media, data analysis/management and digital marketing strategies, as well as an interest in working for a non-profit.  This position can be performed remotely, however, there may be a desire to have you attend specific fundraising events.

Responsibilities

  • Working at the direction of the board of directors, develop a year-long marketing and communications plan
  • Create engaging content for newsletters, flyers, email campaigns and social media posts
  • Manage all social media accounts
  • Assist committees with administrative needs such as Signup Genius volunteer management, fundraising campaigns and donor thank you letters
  • Maintain all data in the contact management system (Bloomerang) to include data cleansing, duplication management, and data imports from volunteer and client lists
  • Assist giveaway directors with managing registration forms in Google forms, identifying duplicate registrations and performing data analysis
  • Assist with fundraising and coat collection events
  • Assist with other strategic initiatives as requested
  • Assist with grant applications as requested 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Experience managing social media accounts
  • Creative, curious, fast-learning, and resourceful
  • Organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and hardworking
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and industry trends
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Google Forms, Spreadsheets, Canva), or ability to quickly learn new technologies
