Better Connect with Members of Your Workforce through Reality Spanish

Dr. Melinda Grismer, Purdue Center for Regional Development, Brooklyn Burton, Ivy Tech Community College, and Sarah Ponsler, Wabash will preview what is Reality Spanish and the success Wabash has had supporting their supervisors in learning the language, culture and creating an inclusive workplace.

The course was offered in response to the need for supervisors to speak basic Spanish and learn about Hispanic culture so they can better relate to a growing Latino workforce. The initial course was offered to a group of 27 supervisors in the Lafayette plant and has now seen success with more courses offered this spring. Speakers will provide a preview of outcomes from the most recent Spanish course sessions.

The Institute for Workforce Excellence team looks forward to providing a space for interested business and community partners to learn more about the Reality Spanish program.
