As Indiana continues to expand work-based learning (WBL) opportunities for students, employers are increasingly engaging youth workers through internships, apprenticeships, and school-connected placements. While these programs are essential to talent development, they also introduce complex legal and compliance obligations, particularly under recent legislation such as Indiana House Bill 1098 (HB 1098).

This one-hour virtual webinar will equip employers and workforce partners with clear, practical guidance on how to engage student workers confidently and compliantly in work-based learning settings. The session will focus on answering the most frequently asked questions and helping participants interpret how HB 1098 impacts workers’ compensation coverage, employer responsibility, and intermediary roles in WBL programs.
