Purdue Extension-Perry County Intern - Summer 2022

Description

This summer internship is a full-time, paid position with Purdue Extension-Perry County in Tell City, IN. The intern will work with professionals in the areas of 4-H Youth Development, Health and Human Sciences, and Agriculture and Natural Resources. The primary focus will be developing, marketing, and conducting hands-on educational programs for youth in grades K-12, including the county 4-H fair.

The primary hours are M-F 8-4, and some evenings and weekends will be required, especially during the county fair season from June 29-July 12.

Responsibilities

Work with Extension professionals to assess needs and develop and conduct programs to meet these needs.
Develop and conduct educational youth programs for day camps, overnight camp, and county fair.
Develop program marketing materials for print and social media.
Write manuals and newsletters
Contact and relationship management and general customer service
Create and edit short educational videos

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with both adult and youth clients
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
