Description
Provide therapeutic intervention to individuals served in a facility, community or home-based setting.
- Under the supervision of professional staff the interns will perform a range of on-going activities and assigned task at Camp Red Cedar– according to the facility standards as well as State and Federal regulations.
- Provide entry-level professional support services in a specialty field, as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives.
- Assists in the planning and implementation of assigned projects; participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.
- Uses acquired knowledge and skill to carry out and complete project activities.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Interns will be available for the following areas of responsibility:
- Able to maintain billable criteria.
- Provide education to caregivers
- Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification
- Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of clients we serve.
- Must report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to supervisor or department head.
- Implement community and facility based, age appropriate, recreational activities
- Completes documentation as required by state and federal regulations
- Collect data to document progress of prioritized objectives for each client
- Develop and implement recreation therapy strategies based on target objectives and goals
- Complies with and implements all protocols for individuals including but not limited to: high risk plans, dining plans, seizure management plans, positioning schedules, etc.
- Participate in Person Centered Individual Support Plan for client served
- Attend departmental meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
Currently enrolled in a qualified degree program with Recreational Therapy
Licensure/Certification:
Current valid driver’s license
CPR and/or First Aid (if applicable)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, kneel and reach while working with clients for approximately 80-90% of the day. Use the full range of body motion. Perform First Aid and CPR. May require physical exertion for recreational activities.
