Journalism Internship - Fall 2024

Description

Interns with Hannah will learn much about the fast-paced world of government and policy 
journalism and will interview and connect with the influencers and policymakers in state 
government. Interns will work with Hannah’s team of experienced journalists to contribute work to 
Hannah News Service’s four Indiana Insight newsletters: Indiana Legislative Insight, Indiana 
Education Insight, Indiana Gaming Insight, and Indiana Transportation Insight. Interns will also learn 
the ins and outs of policymaking and the legislative process in Indiana.  

Work hours for this internship are flexible but all applicants MUST submit their availability and total 
number of desired hours with a résumé.

Responsibilities

Write articles and newsletter content 
• Research topics for newsletter content 
• Assist with interviews and covering events 
• Take notes at various legislative meetings 
• Collaborate with the Hannah News team on content and story ideas 

Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred in interested applicants, but not required: 
• Enrollment in a journalism or communications degree program 
• Experience working in a student newsroom or a professional newsroom
