Responsibilities
One of your many responsibilities will be to meet the basic needs of all children in your care. Three of the most basic needs for a child are feeding, diaper changing/potty, and sleep. Throughout your digital and hands-on training you will gain knowledge and understanding on how to meet these most basic needs per state guidelines across multiple age groups.
Another one of your responsibilities will to be actively engaged with all children in your care throughout the entire day. Some of the best ways to accomplish this responsibility are to talk to the children, read to the children, and play with the children. By doing these things throughout the day you are supporting the children in meeting important developmental milestones.
Creating a nurturing a loving environment for all children in your care will be another one of your daily responsibilities. A great way to accomplish this responsibility is by developing trusting relationships with the children in your care. It is important to model appropriate emotional regulation and language usage while guiding children through managing big feelings and emotions. You will be guided through your training on how to do this effectively.
Cleanliness of your classroom and the daycare center is another one of your daily responsibilities. This will be accomplished by following the provided daily cleaning checklist for your classroom. Outside of the classroom there may be a cleaning task or two to accomplish at the end of the day. These tasks will also be outlined within a checklist. You will receive training on the cleaning tasks throughout your hands-on training.
