Game Master
Description
King’s Play Cafe is a family-friendly entertainment and play center that provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children and families. Our work-based learning program gives the learner hands-on experience supporting game operations and guest experiences in a professional setting. The learner will receive direct supervision, training, and mentorship from the owner/manager and designated staff members, who will provide guidance on customer service, game facilitation, communication, teamwork, safety procedures, and workplace expectations. Learning goals for the learner include developing communication, organization, problem-solving, teamwork, time management, and customer service skills, while gaining a better understanding of how to support a fun, safe, and positive guest experience in a family entertainment business.
Responsibilities
King’s Play Cafe’s Game Master intern will support game-based guest experiences and interactive activities that help create a fun and engaging environment for children and families. Responsibilities may include preparing and organizing game materials, setting up game stations, explaining game rules or activity instructions under supervision, assisting guests during gameplay, monitoring activities for safety and fairness, and resetting game areas between groups. The learner may also help observe guest engagement, support themed game events or special activities, and contribute ideas for improving the overall guest experience. These responsibilities are intended to provide hands-on learning and project support rather than routine employee duties.
Qualifications
King’s Play Cafe’s Game Master intern should be a dependable, energetic student with a positive attitude and an interest in working with children, families, or interactive activities. The learner should be comfortable following directions, working as part of a team, and engaging with guests in a professional and friendly manner. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and a willingness to learn are preferred. No prior experience is required, as this internship is designed to provide introductory, hands-on learning.
Learning Objectives
The learner will develop a foundational understanding of how game-based guest experiences are facilitated in a family entertainment environment. Learning objectives include building skills in communication, teamwork, customer service, problem-solving, time management, and following safety and workplace procedures. The learner will gain hands-on experience preparing game materials, assisting guests during activities, monitoring gameplay, and helping reset game areas while learning how to create a fun, safe, and positive guest experience.
