Description
Tea's Me Café is a mission-driven small business dedicated to serving, inspiring, and connecting the community through exceptional hospitality, meaningful relationships, and community engagement. Through the Rise & Lead Fellowship, Tea's Me provides students with paid experiential learning opportunities that bridge classroom learning with real-world business experience. Fellows work alongside organizational leadership to develop professional skills while contributing to meaningful projects that support business growth and community impact.
The Marketing & Brand Strategy Fellow will receive ongoing supervision and mentorship from Tea's Me's owner, leadership team, and marketing professionals. The Fellow will participate in weekly one-on-one coaching sessions, project planning meetings, marketing strategy discussions, content reviews, and leadership development conversations. Throughout the fellowship, the student will receive continuous feedback while gaining experience in both the creative and strategic aspects of marketing a mission-driven organization.
Training will include:
- Brand strategy and storytelling
- Content planning and campaign development
- Social media strategy and analytics
- Customer engagement and brand experience
- Graphic design fundamentals and visual communication
- Email marketing and promotional planning
- Event marketing and community outreach
- Marketing performance measurement and reporting
- Professional communication and project management
The Fellow will work collaboratively with the Business Management, Finance & Business Analytics, and Events & Community Engagement Fellows to understand how marketing supports every area of the organization. Rather than simply creating social media posts, the student will participate in developing integrated marketing campaigns, measuring campaign effectiveness, and using customer insights to strengthen Tea's Me's brand and community relationships.
By the completion of the fellowship, the learner will:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns that support organizational goals.
- Create compelling content that reflects Tea's Me's mission, values, and brand identity.
- Analyze marketing performance and recommend improvements using engagement data and customer insights.
- Strengthen skills in strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, communication, and project management.
- Collaborate across departments to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and community events.
- Build confidence presenting ideas, receiving feedback, and managing projects from concept through completion.
- Develop a professional portfolio showcasing campaigns, content, and marketing strategies completed during the fellowship.
The Rise & Lead Fellowship is designed to prepare students for careers in marketing, communications, branding, public relations, entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, and business development by providing meaningful, project-based learning experiences that develop both technical and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
As a Marketing & Brand Strategy Fellow, the learner will participate in project-based marketing initiatives that strengthen Tea's Me's brand, increase community engagement, and support organizational growth. Rather than performing routine marketing tasks, the Fellow will work alongside Tea's Me leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic marketing initiatives that create measurable impact.
Throughout the fellowship, the learner will:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop integrated marketing campaigns that support Tea's Me's business goals, community initiatives, and seasonal promotions.
- Assist in creating annual, monthly, and event-specific marketing plans aligned with organizational priorities.
- Ensure brand consistency across print, digital, and in-person customer experiences.
- Create engaging photo, video, graphic, and written content that reflects Tea's Me's mission and values.
- Capture customer stories, fellowship highlights, community partnerships, and special events to strengthen the organization's brand identity.
- Develop marketing materials including social media content, newsletters, promotional flyers, and digital communications.
- Monitor social media and marketing analytics to evaluate campaign performance.
- Analyze audience engagement and recommend strategies to improve reach, customer interaction, and brand awareness.
- Assist in developing marketing reports that measure campaign effectiveness and return on investment.
- Collaborate with the Events & Community Engagement Fellow to promote community events and partnerships.
- Support marketing efforts that increase participation in Tea's Me programs and initiatives.
- Represent Tea's Me during select community events by assisting with promotional activities and customer engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Management and Finance & Business Analytics Fellows to understand how marketing initiatives impact customer experience, sales, and business performance.
- Contribute marketing insights that support organizational decision-making and business growth.
- Lead at least one comprehensive marketing campaign from planning through evaluation.
- Present campaign results, lessons learned, and recommendations to Tea's Me leadership.
- Participate in weekly coaching sessions focused on leadership, communication, project management, and strategic thinking.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a creative, curious, and collaborative learner who is interested in marketing, communications, branding, or storytelling. Previous marketing or professional experience is not required. The Rise & Lead Fellowship is designed to help students develop these skills through mentorship, hands-on experience, and real-world projects.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Graphic Design, Business, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Interest in marketing, branding, storytelling, customer engagement, or community outreach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker with a willingness to contribute new ideas and solve problems.
- Basic familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools is helpful but not required.
- Comfortable learning new technologies, software, and marketing platforms.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrates professionalism, initiative, adaptability, curiosity, and a willingness to receive and apply feedback.
No previous professional marketing experience is required. Students will receive training, mentorship, and hands-on opportunities to build the technical and leadership skills needed to be successful throughout the fellowship.

By the completion of the fellowship, the Fellow will have:
- Developed a professional marketing portfolio showcasing campaigns, branding projects, and creative content.
- Strengthened skills in marketing strategy, communication, project management, and brand development.
- Built confidence presenting ideas, collaborating with leadership, and managing projects from beginning to end.
- Expanded their professional network through collaboration with business leaders, community partners, nonprofit organizations, and fellow students.
- Gained practical experience that prepares them for careers in marketing, communications, public relations, branding, nonprofit leadership, business development, entrepreneurship, or digital media.
