Description

About Us:

Located in Carmel, we are a boutique CPA firm providing tax and consulting services to closely held businesses and individuals across a wide range of industries. For more than 40 years, we have built our firm around personalized client service, strong relationships, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to helping both our clients and our people grow.

The Intern Experience:

Our internship program is designed to give students much more than a behind-the-scenes look at public accounting. Interns become part of our team. Through project-based work, they experience the day-to-day work of a public accounting firm and have the opportunity to contribute to actual client engagements—while working alongside experienced CPAs and accountants. Their work may include preparing individual and business tax returns, assisting with tax research and planning, working on special projects, and preparing presentations on legislative changes. Interns also participate in staff meetings, attend partner-client meetings when applicable, join in-house social events, and take part in our Lunch and Learn sessions.

Support and Mentorship:

What makes our program unique is our dual-support structure. Each intern is paired with an experienced partner who serves as their mentor and a staff accountant who serves as their buddy. The mentor provides a broader perspective on the profession, client relationships, and professional development, while the buddy provides day-to-day guidance, instruction, feedback, and support. This allows interns to learn from experienced professionals while also having someone they can turn to as they navigate their day-to-day work.

Learning and Growth:

We want our interns to leave with more than technical accounting experience. Our goal is to help them grow as professionals and as individuals. Throughout the program, interns will develop critical thinking, communication, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while learning how to build professional relationships, earn trust, ask thoughtful questions, and contribute as part of a team. Just as importantly, we want them to gain confidence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of what it means to build a fulfilling career in public accounting.

By the end of the internship, our goal is for students to have experienced what it is truly like to be part of a public accounting team—working with real clients, learning from experienced professionals, contributing to meaningful projects, and discovering where their own skills and interests can take them.

Responsibilities

Interns will gain hands-on experience preparing individual, business, and trust tax returns while working closely with an experienced tax engagement team. They will also have opportunities to assist with tax research and special projects, gaining exposure to a variety of industries and real-world tax and accounting scenarios. This is an in-person internship and is not remote or hybrid.
