Description

The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (E-REP) is the regional chamber of commerce and economic development organization serving Southwest Indiana. Through partnerships with businesses, schools, local governments, and community organizations, E-REP works to strengthen the regional economy by supporting workforce development, education, entrepreneurship, and business growth.


The Marketing & Communications Intern will work as part of E-REP's Workforce & Education team, supporting marketing initiatives for erepio, an innovative software platform that connects students, schools, and employers through work-based learning opportunities, as well as other workforce and education programs.


The intern will receive direct supervision and regular coaching from the Chief Workforce & Education Officer while collaborating with other members of the Workforce & Education team. The intern will receive hands-on training in content creation, brand management, event marketing, communications strategy, and professional workplace expectations. Regular feedback sessions and project reviews will help the intern build confidence and expand their skills throughout the internship.


The primary goal of this experience is to help the learner develop practical marketing and communications skills while creating professional work that has a meaningful impact on students, educators, employers, and the Southwest Indiana community.

Responsibilities

The Marketing & Communications Intern will participate in a variety of creative and project-based assignments, including:

  1. Create graphics, social media content, and short-form videos to support workforce and education initiatives.
  2. Assist in developing marketing campaigns for erepio and related programs.
  3. Design flyers, brochures, presentations, event signage, and promotional materials.
  4. Update website content and help maintain current marketing resources.
  5. Capture photos and videos at community events, employer meetings, and educational programs.
  6. Research marketing trends and recommend creative ideas for reaching students, educators, and employers.
  7. Assist with email newsletters and digital communications.
  8. Help collect and share success stories from students, educators, employers, and community partners.
  9. Organize digital marketing assets and assist with project coordination.
  10. Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and community events to gain exposure to regional workforce and economic development initiatives.


Administrative tasks will be limited and directly related to supporting marketing projects and event preparation.

Qualifications

Applicants should be current college students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Journalism, Business, or a related field.


Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Creativity and a willingness to learn.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  5. Interest in marketing, communications, workforce development, education, or community engagement.
  6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  7. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.


Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, photography, video editing, or website content management is helpful but not required.
