Levisonics is a medical device startup that is dedicated to improving the lives of patients by developing innovative blood coagulation testing platforms that can perform coagulation analysis with a single drop of blood using acoustic levitation. Our mission is to provide healthcare professionals with accurate and reliable diagnostic tools that help them make informed decisions and improve patient outcomes.
We are seeking a Biomedical Engineering Intern to assist our engineering team in the development and testing of our blood coagulation testing devices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that directly impact patient care while gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work closely with our engineers to help design, assemble, and test prototypes and will help contribute to the development of our product pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Support testing of prototype devices using blood or plasma samples under supervision.
- Assist with data collection and analysis from device runs.
- Help compare device output against reference assays such as PT, aPTT, and thromboelastometry.
- Contribute to documentation of test protocols, sample handling, and results.
- Support literature review connecting device performance to clinical use cases.
- Keep up-to-date with current literature and advances in medical device engineering
- Work under the project manager and product development team
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in some engineering field
- Passionate about medical device engineering and advancing the field of healthcare
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Able to work with hand and power tools to produce prototype components
- Experience with experiment design and statistical analysis are appreciated
- Good communication skills and ability to work on a small team of engineers
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate and complete records
