Levisonics is a medical device startup dedicated to improving patient lives by developing innovative blood coagulation testing platforms that perform analysis with a single drop of blood using acoustic levitation. Our mission is to provide healthcare professionals with accurate and reliable diagnostic tools that help them make informed decisions and improve patient outcomes.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support various aspects of device development. This internship provides students with the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative medical technologies in a startup setting. Interns will support electrical engineering tasks related to device prototyping, sensor systems, and hardware testing. The role is designed to offer exposure to real-world engineering challenges, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to evolving product needs. Interns will collaborate with a small team of engineers and gain insight into the design and testing processes behind medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Assist with circuit design and prototyping for the acoustic drive and sensing electronics.
- Support bench testing and validation of sensor and signal chain hardware.
- Help troubleshoot and debug prototype electronics alongside the engineering team.
- Document test setups, procedures, and results for the device file.
- Contribute to team discussions on design tradeoffs and next iterations.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Familiarity with circuit design, PCB layout, or embedded systems.
- Comfortable using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators.
- Detail oriented and comfortable producing clear technical documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for a small, fast moving team.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this internship, the intern will be able to:
- Explain how the drive and sensing circuitry support a non-contact acoustic levitation device.
- Design, build, and debug a prototype circuit or test fixture with guidance from the team.
- Read and follow a device development process from improvement through validation testing.
- Produce test documentation clear enough for another engineer to repeat the test.
