CBK Industries is built by a team of engineers and MBAs who provide an one-stop solution for residential and commercial property needs. We combine technical knowledge, business strategy, and a trusted network of skilled contractors to service our clients from HVAC and plumbing to remodeling and siding. Our mission is to provide reliable, high-quality service while developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Our internship program provides hands-on learning in a real job-site environment. Interns assist experienced technicians, observe professional practices, and learn technical and customer-service skills essential to the trades. The internship is designed as an experiential learning opportunity, not a purely administrative position. The intern will work directly with our founder, Jason Cumberlander, a licensed trades professional and engineer with over 15 years of experience.

Training: Interns receive onboarding covering job-site safety, tool usage, and customer-service expectations. Also mentorship will be provided through open communication, weekly check-ins and additional learning opportunities with our partners.

Learning Goals for the student will be the following: Demonstrate understanding of basic trade tools, materials, and safety procedures. Support field technicians with setup, maintenance, and clean-up under supervision. Understand service workflows — from work order to customer completion. Communicate professionally with team members and clients. Reflect on career paths within the skilled trades industry.

Responsibilities

Interns will work on meaningful, skill-building tasks, including:

1. Assisting with job-site setup, material handling, and safety preparation.
2. Observing and helping technicians with repairs, installations, and diagnostics.
3. Performing entry-level maintenance tasks (e.g., changing filters, tightening fixtures).
4. Tracking and organizing tools and supplies.
5. Participating in team meetings and safety briefings.
6. Completing a short project or reflection log to document learning outcomes.

Qualifications

Current Indiana high-school student (or recent graduate) eligible for the HS EARN Indiana program. Interest in home services, trades, or construction. Coachable, willingness to learn and follow instructions. Reliable attendance and positive attitude. Ability to perform physical labor and follow safety guideline
