DIMENSIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Typical Equipment Includes: Paint Booth, Electrical Tape, Tags, Traverse Production Software, Internet, Tablets, Forklift, Measuring Tools such as Micrometers, Calipers and Tape Measure, Pallets, Boxes, Scale, Hand Tools, Power Tools, and Automatic Saw.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Final preparation of completed jobs which include prepping, painting, and tagging as needed. Shipping and receiving functions related to completed jobs and materials received.

Secondary functions include assisting with disassembly of jobs, operating automatic saw and conducting pickups and deliveries to customers and vendors.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Within the Inspection Department, perform various duties that focus on the final preparation of completed jobs and assist with shipping and receiving functions. This position reports to the Inventory Manager and the lead man of the Inspection Department. Typical duties at this level include but are not limited to:

1. Final Preparation of Jobs

1. Prepping, Painting and Tagging completed jobs to ensure they look presentable to ship to customers.Ensuring all paperwork and labeling are correct. Completed a Final Prep Checklist to ensure all items have been completed and everything is with the job for shipment. Examples of jobs include cylinders both hydraulic and pneumatic, presses including injection mold, compression and stamping, pumps, valves, motors and custom machining or fabrication projects.

1. Shipping & Receiving:

1. Preparing Jobs for Shipment by determining proper pallet and or box to use for the shipping of jobs and calculating the dimensions and weight. This is for both common carriers, UPS/FedEx, and DAS driver shipments. Jobs will need to be banded and wrapped accordingly.

1. Coordinating and scheduling pickups with common carriers and UPS/Fed Ex through online platforms.

1. Position is responsible for loading and unloading of semis. This will primarily be hard stock inventory. All hard stock inventory needs to be measured for correctness and placed in appropriate area. Position is also responsible for handling all incoming UPS, Fed Ex etc. shipments. All incoming shipments need to be inspected for accuracy in terms of type and size of metal, quantity and free of defects. Then verified against the paperwork. Any discrepancies should be brought to the attention of supervisor.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

1. This position will be crossed-trained in the disassembly of jobs, operation of automatic saw and assisting with pickups and deliveries to customers and vendors. It is expected employees will cross over between primary and secondary duties.

Qualifications

An ideal candidate would have a minimum of two-three years’ mechanical experience and working knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. However, would be willing to train the right person. Experience scheduling pickups with common carriers and/or UPS, FedEx a plus. Must be willing to lift heavy items. Must be able to operate a forklift or willing to learn. Working knowledge of the hydraulic industry with familiarity of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders in terms of components, operation, and repair a plus. Able to pull a trailer a plus. Excellent troubleshooting, attention to detail and follow-up skills needed. High degree of organization and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player. Ability to learn quickly as environment is rapidly changing.
