Description
The Office of Workforce and Community Engagement at IU Indianapolis seeks a motivated student intern to help organize and improve how the office tracks employer and community partner relationships. The intern will support setting up and using a CRM system, so the team can better manage contacts, pipelines, follow-ups, reports, and partnership activity.
This role does not require building new software. The intern will configure a CRM, manage relational data, document processes, and establish reporting pipelines for the Office.
Responsibilities
- Learn the CRM system, help set it up, and support the team in using it effectively.
- Help clean, organize, and import employer, partner, event, and relationship data.
- Develop reports or dashboards to track employer interactions, partnership status, student opportunities, referrals, and engagement activities.
- Document CRM setup decisions, workflows, and basic user guidance.
- Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures for the office.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and improvements as the CRM is configured.
- Participate in project meetings and share updates, questions, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Comfortable using spreadsheets, databases, dashboards, AI, and CRM systems.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, project management tools, databases, low-code/no-code tools, or workflow automation.
- Interest or coursework in informatics, data science, computer science, information systems, business analytics, operations, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate questions or updates clearly.
- Ability to explain technical information in clear, accessible language.
- Professionalism, reliability, and respect for confidential or sensitive information.
- Work-Study accepted, but not required
- Experience with reporting and basic data visualization.
- Interest in employer relations and workforce development.
- Experience creating user guides, process notes, training materials, or written instructions.
