Communications Intern
Description
MadJax Maker Force is a nonprofit organization in downtown Muncie that brings together artists, makers, entrepreneurs, and community members. Our 80,000-square-foot building offers creative workspaces, a Maker Space, artist studios, and opportunities for people to learn, create, and grow their businesses. We also host events and programs that bring people together.
Our Communications Intern will gain hands-on experience in marketing, social media, and storytelling. The intern will help create social media posts, newsletters, blogs, and other materials that promote MadJax. They will also take photos, create videos, and share stories about the people and activities in our building.
The intern will work directly with the Executive Director, who has nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, marketing, and communications. They will receive training, regular feedback, and support while working on projects. They will also have opportunities to share ideas and take the lead on creative assignments.
Our goal is to help the intern build stronger writing, communication, creativity, and time management skills. By the end of the internship, they will have real-world experience, examples of their work for a professional portfolio, and a better understanding of how marketing and communications help a nonprofit organization succeed.
