Evansville Wartime Museum

About

The Evansville Wartime Museum honors the remarkable industrial, military, and civilian contributions of Evansville, Indiana, during World War II and beyond. Located near the EVV Airport, the museum showcases the city’s transformation into a major wartime production hub—home to factories that built P-47 Thunderbolt fighter planes, landing ships, and ammunition.

The museum features an impressive collection of military vehicles, aircraft, uniforms, and personal stories from the men and women who served at home and abroad. Highlights include a fully restored P-47 Thunderbolt, interactive exhibits, and rotating displays that connect the local experience to global events.

Through preservation, education, and community engagement, the Evansville Wartime Museum ensures that the legacy of sacrifice, innovation, and service is remembered for generations to come.
