span style="font-family: 'Calibri','sans-serif'; font-size: 11pt;">The Event Production Internship will focus on the development and implementation of programming related to the Indiana State Fair. In particular, this internship will provide planning and operational support for special projects and guest experiences initiatives such as the Indiana State Fair Brewer’s Cup, the ROCK U exhibit in Grand Hall, FAIRs Care, Hoosier Heritage Day, Ambassador Program and Info Booths. The position may also assist with other special projects as necessary.

Responsibilities

Event Production Interns with the Indiana State Fair Commission are active members of an award-winning team tasked with the creation and execution of dynamic experiential programming that utilizes agriculture and/or education as a unifying concept.

 

Intern responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the development and management of the special projects critical to the execution of theIndianaState Fair including:
    • Planning and execution of Brewers’ Cup competition and event
      • Contract execution
      • Competition logistics
      • Catering oversight and event set up
    • Planning and set up support for ROCK U exhibit in Grand Hall
    • Oversight of FAIRs Care initiative
    • Oversight of Hoosier Heritage Days
  • Assist with development and management of guest services initiatives such as the Ambassador Program and the Info Booths
    • Volunteer coordination and training
    • Info Booth staff coordination and communication
    • Info Book compilation
  • Coordinate with the Event Production Team to fulfill logistical needs

Qualifications

Intern Requirements:

  • Completion of at least two years of post-high school instruction
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to work with different personalities
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work outside during summer weather
  • Have turned 21 years old by May 28 or the start of the internship if different

 

Intern Preferences (not required):

  • Expertise in event management and/or marketing
