IT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Pinnacle Computer Services, Inc.
Location: Evansville, IN (On-site Required)
Duration: Summer Program (12 weeks) or Semester Program (16 weeks)
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) or Part-time (20-30 hours/week)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Join our dynamic IT team and gain hands-on experience in managed service provider operations! This internship offers real-world exposure to enterprise technology, client service, and technical problem-solving in a professional MSP environment. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and learn industry-standard tools while contributing to meaningful projects.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Technical Skills:
- Help Desk Operations - Customer service and technical support fundamentals
- Windows Administration - User accounts, permissions, basic server management
- Microsoft 365 - Email, Teams, SharePoint, and cloud services
- Network Basics - Understanding switches, routers, wireless systems, and troubleshooting
- Hardware Setup - Computer builds, server rack installation, and equipment configuration
- Documentation - Creating technical guides and maintaining system records
Professional Skills:
- Client Communication - Professional interaction with business clients
- Ticketing Systems - Using ConnectWise for project and incident management
- Team Collaboration - Working with technical specialists and operations staff
- Problem-Solving - Structured troubleshooting methodologies
- Project Support - Assisting with installations and infrastructure deployments
Responsibilities
INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support (40%)
- Assist Service Desk team with basic troubleshooting and user support
- Help resolve hardware and software issues under supervision
- Document solutions and contribute to knowledge base
- Support equipment inventory and asset management
Infrastructure Projects (30%)
- Assist with server and network installation projects
- Learn cable management and rack organization
- Support equipment deployment and configuration
- Observe and participate in client site implementations
Documentation & Process (20%)
- Create and update technical documentation
- Assist with Standard Operating Procedure development
- Maintain client environment records in ITGlue
- Support quality assurance and testing procedures
Learning & Development (10%)
- Attend training sessions and technical meetings
- Shadow experienced technicians on client visits
- Participate in vendor training opportunities
- Complete assigned learning modules and certifications
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Educational Background:
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related program
- High school students with strong technical interest welcome
- Coursework in networking, programming, or systems administration preferred
Technical Interest:
- Passion for technology and problem-solving
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with networking concepts helpful but not required
- Interest in learning server and network technologies
Personal Qualities:
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Detail-oriented with good organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Reliable transportation for occasional client site visits

Qualifications
Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, Marketing, Business, or other equivalent degree.
