Description
The Interior Design Intern will assist in the design of The Garrett Companies’ interior design efforts on a range of projects at a national level. The Interior Design Intern will serve as a support resource in the design process from concept to design and documentation.
Responsibilities
Major Objective:
- Assist Interior Design team in the entire design process.
- Research design concepts that could be incorporated into future projects.
- Understand the entire design process from concept, design, documentation, procurement, to placement on projects in multiple states with a range of budgets and design goals.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand industry specific terms.
- Work in unison with other departments to communicate and gather appropriate information.
- Assist in developing project interior designs and successfully implement them from concept phase through project execution.
- Preparation of materials and finish boards.
- Familiarize self with Garrett standards and product library.
- Assist in producing graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate selections & create budgets for FFE, finish selections, material presentations and specifications to meet established budgets
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Strong Revit, CAD and design skills.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and for multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and with team of professionals as needed.
Required Education:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interior design.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator.
- Skills and experience with marketing.
