IMPACT Interns- Program Aid, After-school program (6th-12th grade)
Description
Bridges Outreach, in Kokomo, IN is a nonprofit that bridges schools, churches and community together through mentoring, tutoring, housing, and employment opportunities.
Bridges is looking for interns to work at our after-school ministry. Bridges has been in operation since 2005, works in four schools and serves around 300 youth a year. The Impact Interns would work at Bridges 15-20 hours a week during the second semester of the school year (Jan 2022-May 2022). They would work at the Bridges main office, the 3 Kokomo middle schools and at Kokomo High School.
Responsibilities
Interns are needed to help manage after-school programs, assist Bridges directors and mentor Bridges youth. Responsibilities include:
Direct supervision of youth, mentoring, tutoring, program management (Planning, special events, professional development, staff trainings, volunteer management, public speaking and more)
Qualifications
*Youth Development- Needs to have a desire and passion to serve middle and high school students.
*Teamwork- Serve with Bridges staff in hopes of developing our youth academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Be a team player willing to jump in and contribute.
*Learner- Bridges strives to always be learning and growing and Interns need to be open to learning best practices, youth trends and professionalism in the workplace.
*Flexibility/adaptability- Must be flexible to changes, working with diverse populations and open to grow in new areas.
