Communications Internships (Spring 2024)

Description

At the World Baseball Academy (WBA), communications interns will be given hands-on experience through a variety of opportunities. Schedules will be individually tailored to meet their school’s requirements with the intention of helping them develop as leaders. Interns will have the chance to help with event planning and implementation. Interns will research specific projects and present to the staff what they have learned, as well as contribute to communication elements across our many different programs. We try to design our internships around the intern’s skills and passions. For example, there may be project opportunities for interns in the areas of photography, videography, or written communications. Along with this, interns will get an in-depth experience of how a nonprofit functions and a greater understanding of public relations. Additionally, there will be opportunities to help with some of our WBA programs and facility upkeep during your time here. This is an unpaid internship located at World Baseball Academy’s ASH Centre Campus at 1701 Freeman Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana. 

Responsibilities

Interns will need to be curious and open to new challenges. Interns need to be able to work with others and be able to take ownership of the projects given them. Interns should be on time and be professional. Communications interns will need to be adaptable to the ever-changing needs of the organization and demonstrate how they can use their skills in the ongoing programming at the WBA.

Qualifications

The ideal intern will have strong communication skills, be team player but also be able to work on their own at times. Interns should be punctual and be able to carry out minor manual labor when the job requires it. Interns need to be willing to learn and have an interest in different forms of communication.
