Description

Student ambassadors build a network within the community to recruit new students, assist with campus visits and recruitment events within the admissions and student affairs departments, and lead identified student life initiatives as designated by the Director of Student Life & Support Services or Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services & Student Success. Students will spend no more than 25% of their office hour time assisting with clerical tasks. 

Responsibilities

  • Distribute Ivy Tech giveaways, communications, and recruitment materials to prospective students.
  • Use the campuses Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool to record prospective student information, update contact information, and input of event attendance.
  • Assist with campus events such as:
    • Campus tours (individual one-on-one or group tours)
    • College 101 events
    • New Student Orientation
    • Workshops
    • Student Life & Support Services Programming
  • As needed, assist with other campus and admissions events or receptions.
  • Attend high school or community organizations with admission staff and share information regarding the admissions process 
  • Assist with answering Frequently Asked Questions via phone, email, or at designated events
  •  Attend community events, display Ivy Tech informational items and answer essential Admissions questions (i.e., job fairs, Work One event, College Fairs, etc.). 
  • All other duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work professionally in independent and team settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Relevant experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related technology
  • Current students working towards Associate or Bachelor Degree
    • Enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) with preference given to full-time (12+ credit hours) students and 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule of mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends with short to no notice.
