Our mission is to empower teens to achieve excellence in community, college and career. Through three engaging programs our teens learn critical skills to successfully follow the path of their choosing post-secondary. All programming provided by TeenWorks is at no cost to the teen or family. The Development Department is an integral part of the organization’s goal to keep programming accessible and free. As a member of the Development Department, you will be working to grow our philanthropic contributions.

Position Summary

The purpose of the Development and Communications Intern is to gain experience in donor stewardship, social media content creation and management, donor research and general fundraising including but not limited to special events, recurring gifts and corporate partnerships. The internship is part-time and includes a stipend. Academic credit can be arranged. The Development and Communications Intern will report to the Director of Development.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in social media efforts through monthly plans and graphic design
  • Assist with data management and donor reports using Salesforce
  • Perform general administrative duties to assist the TeenWorks Development staff and other duties as assigned
  • Conduct prospect research for corporate partners
  • Attend community events to promote organizational goals and solicit donations

Working Conditions

  • Work at company office 12-15 hours per week

  • Currently obtaining a bachelor’s degree
  • Presence of core competencies (See Success Indicators)
  • Social Media experience
  • Data management experience
  • Microsoft Office skills
