Description
Mentoring Services & Leadership Development (MSLD) serves as a go-to resource for undergraduate students seeking personal encouragement, career support, leadership development, academic advice, and more. Indiana University’s Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (OVPDEI) administers MSLD as a way to support students—especially young people from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds—throughout their academic journey and beyond.
Earn Indiana intern will provide logistical and programmatic support for the Faculty and Staff for Student Excellence Mentoring Program (FASE). The intern will report to the Executive Director of the MSLD. However, the intern will also provide logistical support for MSLD and FASE student staff as necessary, including members of the FASE peer mentors, MAP Coordinators, MSW Intern, and the Graduate Mentoring coordinator.
Supervision and training will be provided by Executive Director and team members. Additionally, intern will engage with faculty and other professional staff members who will assist with training.

- Learn and develop methods of data collection and assessment. In-person training and selected readings from the "ABCs of Evaluation: Timeless Techniques for Program and Project Managers."

Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Earn Indiana intern are as follows:
- Mentor Apprenticeship Program: Assist MAP Coordinators with planning and developing 3-4 in-person programs that enhance student leadership development [leadership series]
- Provide marketing support using existing MSLD/FASE social media to…
- Enhance social media presence of planned MSLD/FASE programming
- Utilize Canvas to support MSLD/FASE communication and messaging directed towards program’s participants
- Attend 2-3 MSLD/FASE events
- Meet with MSLD executive director weekly for updates on tasks
- Other duties as directed by FASE director in support of MSLD mentoring staff with not more than 25% of duties relating to filing, copying, scheduling meetings, mailing, etc.
Qualifications
Intern Qualifications:
- Must be full-time student of Indiana University
- Must be an Indiana resident
- Must have 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Self-motivated, organized, and responsible
- Knowlege of Microsoft Suites computer applications
- Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated experience with coursework, program planning, and social media platforms
- Must be at least Junior or Senior in class standing
- Must NOT have federal work-study qualification
