Who We are Looking to Hire

Description

The Engineering Intern will complete a variety of assignments per the direction of the VP of Blichmann Engineering and assists in the coordination of various initiatives covering all aspects of the engineering team. Activities may include data management, improving processes, engineering and production support, CI projects, engineering project time studies, assembly layouts, document creation, statistical analysis, training employees, creating/modifying engineering dashboards/metrics, etc.

  • Study engineering projects and assist engineering team in advancing products and timelines.  
  • Audit and correct any engineering opportunities
  • Update Weekly Engineering Report
  • Monitoring engineering efficiencies
  • Championing various engineering projects of various scope and magnitude as assigned by leadership
  • Coordinating with production and engineering teams on projects
  • Improve engineering processes by performing time studies
  • Process documentation
  • Capacity utilization analysis
  • Document and optimize engineering flow and process
  • Materials inspection
  • Quality control
  • Taking on supervisory duties as needed

 

Qualifications

  • What It Takes:
    We’re seeking a student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Production/Operations Management, Engineering, or related major, in at least Junior/Senior standing.

 

To be considered, applicants must also possess the following skills:

    • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Solid oral and written communication skills including the ability to effectively
    • Communicate at different levels and to different personality types
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to proficiently document both processes and programs


This position is not eligible for remote work and would require you to work onsite for the duration of your internship.

 

Physical Requirements:

    • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
    • Will climb ladder on an occasional basis.
    • Will lift up to 50+ pounds on a seldom basis, according to work instruction.
    • Will push or pull up to 20 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
    • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
    • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
    • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
    • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
    • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required
