Job description

The Office of Technology Services (OTS) is a department within the Legislative Services Agency (LSA) that provides members of the Indiana General Assembly (IGA) with nonpartisan, objective legal support, fiscal analysis, and technology services.

Our team works directly with Indiana lawmakers, caucus, and LSA staff to support their business processes with custom applications and tools. Our team is engaged and focused on solving problems. Responsibilities

A challenging and rewarding role

Our IT support interns are engaged in every step along the legislative process by:

  • Attending and supporting committee meetings.
  • Validating website data timeliness and accuracy.
  • Operating A/V equipment as part of the live stream of legislative meetings
  • Posting video files to a web archive to make them accessible to the public
  • Assisting with end user support for mobile devices including iPhones, iPads, Android devices and other tablets
  • Assist in imaging and preparing computers for end users
  • Assist in developing training materials for end users for existing devices and tools

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Ability to be on-site at the Statehouse, downtown Indianapolis, between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday
  • Professional dress required at all times (jacket and tie for men, long skirts/dresses or suits for women)
  • A strong commitment to customer service and an approachable, friendly demeanor
  • Able to maintain a sense of professionalism under pressure
  • Familiarity with Mac OSx and Windows 11

Compensation Expectations

This is a part-time role with no benefits. Interns are paid $20 per hour, with an average of 20-30 hours expected per week, December 2023 through March 2024.

This job is open to candidates with Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and/or Optional Practical Training (OPT). This job requires US work authorization.
