Description

Working as part of the Fundraising Data Analytics team and reporting to the Database Manager, the Database Intern supports aspects of the organization’s CRM database, specifically Data Integrity efforts. This individual supports many departments by controlling data input through mass updates/imports and managing our Data Update queue, as well as working closely with the Junior Database Administrator to support the continued development of Data Integrity audits and training materials.

Responsibilities

Interning at Riley Children's Foundation offers a first-hand glimpse of how the Foundation ensures that children have access to exceptional healthcare by funding pediatric research, education and care.  We at Riley Children's Foundation raise funds statewide and steward assets for the kids.

  1. Data Integrity
    • Complete Data Update tickets to support the intake and maintenance of clean and accurate data.
    • Perform mass updates/imports of data as needed to support the strategic focus of improving our CRM’s completeness.
    • Perform merges of duplicate records on a regular basis.
    • Assist the Junior Database Administrator with the Data Integrity program by developing and executing audits as needed.
  1. Database Training
    • Assist the Junior Database Administrator in the development and maintenance of user-friendly training materials.
    • As needed, train staff in basic database functions and internal processes and procedures. Provide targeted/in-depth training to end-users as needed to perform various functions in database.
    • Support the development of database process/documentation materials as directed by the Database Manager.
  1. Prospect Development Data Entry
    • Working with the Prospect Development Manager, assist with the entry of research data for key prospects (prospective donors) to help ensure our fundraisers have data which can help them cultivate the best relationship they can with these prospects.
  1. Other Duties as Assigned
    • Riley Children’s Foundation Events: Participate in Riley Children’s Foundation events as requested.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Intern may be assigned projects from the wider Riley Children’s Foundation team. The intern manager will work to identify additional projects or shadowing opportunities that align with intern’s professional interests.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Majors:  Business, Informatics, Database Management, Computer Science, Information Science, or similar majors would find this internship beneficial to their career goals and would most likely possess the skills needed to perform assigned projects and tasks.
  • Technical Skills Needed: Interest/experience with Salesforce and/or relational databases, SQL, Microsoft Office; Trailhead profile a plus.
  • Professional Skills Needed: Solid verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organization. Proven problem-solving, research, and analytical skills. Ability to handle confidential information.
