Description

The Institute for Workforce Excellence is a non-profit 501c3 subsidiary of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, working to convene and connect talent to workforce by way of meaningful programs, practices, and partnerships throughout the state of Indiana. One program of the Institute is Work and Learn Indiana, the state's online matching tool connecting students to work- based learning opportunities hosted by Indiana employers. Employment Aid Readiness Network (EARN) has been supporting students from underserved, underrepresented backgrounds in high quality, paid work-based learning opportunities. The EARN Indiana program has recently expanded into high school and is operated through the Work and Learn Indiana program.

Employers receive a 50% wage reimbursement for eligible experiences and students. Another program of the Institute is the Talent Resource Navigator operating to skill up the workforce and help employers and individuals navigate the education and workforce training landscape.

The Institute for Workforce Excellence has many programs and practices and are currently looking for an intern to support the programmatic operations and organizational data to continue to connect and convene stakeholders around education and workforce initiatives throughout the entire state of Indiana.

There will also be opportunities for the intern to meet with several departments and explore areas of interest within business operations. Those could include event management and planning, government affairs, marketing, and communications.

The Institute for Workforce Excellence spends a significant amount of time partnering with government agencies, including the Indiana Department of Education, Indiana Commission for Higher Education, Indiana Economic Development Corporation and Governor’s Workforce Cabinet. The internship experience could include opportunities to learn more about government and engage in stakeholder conversations with various government agencies.

The internship will last approximately from May to August with flexibility dependent upon intern’s schedule. Opportunity to continue after summer semester is dependent on intern schedule and successful evaluation. Parking is at intern’s expense. The internship is currently planned to be hosted in person; however, a hybrid option could be available. Any changes will be communicated to applicants.
