Library Aide 1 (Children's) - Summer 2024

Description

Working in our children's department desk, helping with projects and programs while also assisting library users with their day-to-day needs.  Approx. 25 hours per week.  Interviewing late April / early May 2024.  No phone calls please.

Responsibilities

• Shelving materials.
• Instructing patrons on self-check machine.
• Assisting in and promoting library programs.
• Helping with children's programs for birth to teen.
• Assisting with Summer Library Program by helping with displays, assisting students find the books they enjoy, special programming and ending party.
• General housekeeping of area.
• Working with parents and teachers.
• Working as a team with Youth Services and Circulation staff.
• Placing holds on library materials for patrons.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule.
• Must have completed one year of college.
• Enjoys working with children and adults.
• Qualifies for state student work study (EARN).
