Camp Counselor
Description
The Camp Counselor will work with the Black Pine Animal Sanctuary Education Coordinator to deliver day camps and workshops to students ages 10-13 and 14-17 throughout the summer. Interns will learn about exotic animals, childhood education, animal husbandry, conservation, biology, and project management.
Responsibilities
Assists with planning, leading, and implementing camp programs for children. Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants. Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
Qualifications
• First aid training to be able to respond to minor injuries or illnesses
• Health and safety knowledge to help keep all campers safe
• Excellent communication skills to convey camp procedures to all visitors
• Leadership skills to guide and motivate campers throughout their stay
• Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campers under their care
