Description

The Engineering Intern will support the engineering department. As a member of the team, they will closely work and assist mechanical engineers in product design of mechanical structures, analysis of implementation feasibility studies of key components of different functions, and optimization for manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
• Perform basic product design modifications
• Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment.
• Perform engineering change processes as necessary to support existing products.
• Create 3-D models from 2-D drawings.
• Generate and scan prints.
• Ability to perform mechanical design calculations.
• Test prototypes and standard products and write reports to document the results.
• Categorize a wide arrangement of existing parts.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Competencies:
•Pursuing Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
•Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques and tools.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect/research/synthesize data, apply advanced math/statistics, create charts/graphs, troubleshoot issues, draw conclusions and make recommendations.
•Excellent organization and project management skills with the ability to 1) develop and coordinate project plans; 2) communicates changes and progress; 3) complete projects on time and budget; and 4) manage project team activities.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
•Good team player with the ability to build morale and group commitments to meet goals/objectives and support everyone’s efforts to succeed.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop reports, present to groups and interface effectively with vendors, customers and employees at all levels of the organization.
•Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Drafting skills required, preferably Solidworks and AutoCAD.
