About Our Internship Program:

Our Digital Marketing Internship program provides college students with hands-on experience in digital marketing. The intern will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with the CEO on various projects while gaining practical experience and making a significant impact on our growing agency.

Supervision, Training, and Mentorship:

  • Supervision:
    The intern will report directly to Jackie Rodriguez, CEO of Lumbre Media, and receive guidance on day-to-day tasks and project priorities.

  • Training and Mentorship:

    • Strategy Development:
      Learn to strategize and develop marketing campaigns under the supervision of the CEO.
    • Content Creation:
      Receive training in content creation for various platforms, including social media, blogs, and emails.
    • Graphic Design:
      Assist with graphic design requests and develop on-brand visual assets while gaining design skills.
    • Performance Measurement & Reporting:
      Learn how to measure and analyze multi-channel marketing performance metrics.

Learning Goals for the Intern:

  1. Digital Marketing Strategies:
    Develop a comprehensive understanding of digital marketing strategies, including social media management, content creation, and campaign development.

  2. Content Creation & Graphic Design:
    Build practical skills in content creation and graphic design by developing engaging visuals and graphics for both Lumbre Media and client brands.

  3. Performance Analysis:
    Gain expertise in analyzing and interpreting marketing performance metrics through monthly multi-channel marketing reports.

  4. Project Management & Communication:
    Learn to juggle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with leads, partners, clients, and vendors.

  5. Industry Networking:
    Leverage the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and attend networking events, expanding professional connections.

Responsibilities

Tasks and Projects for the Digital Marketing Intern:

The Digital Marketing Intern at Lumbre Media will engage in meaningful projects and tasks that are distinct from standard employee responsibilities, providing a rich learning experience in the digital marketing field.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Digital Marketing Strategy Development (20%):

    • Collaborate with the CEO to strategize and develop innovative marketing campaigns for Lumbre Media's brand and client brands.
    • Contribute fresh ideas and research industry trends to enhance brand standing.
  2. Content Creation (25%):

    • Plan, develop, and execute visually engaging content for the agency's brand and client brands, including:
      • Social media posts
      • Email newsletters
      • Blog articles
      • Video content
    • Tailor content for different platforms and audiences to maximize engagement.
  3. Graphic Design (20%):

    • Assist with graphic design requests and develop on-brand visual assets, including:
      • Social media graphics
      • Print collateral
      • Other promotional materials
  4. Performance Measurement & Reporting (15%):

    • Provide monthly multi-channel marketing reports to measure performance metrics.
    • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
  5. Industry Research and Competitive Analysis (10%):

    • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging digital marketing practices.
    • Prepare reports summarizing findings and potential applications for Lumbre Media and its clients.
  6. Administrative Assistance (10%):

    • Support the CEO with inbound communications and requests from leads, partners, clients, and vendors.
    • Document internal operational procedures, including office policies and workflow processes.

Learning Emphasis:

This internship emphasizes skill-building in strategic thinking, content creation, and performance measurement, with administrative tasks limited to no more than 10% of the intern's total responsibilities. By focusing on high-impact projects, the intern will leave with a strong foundation in digital marketing that will be instrumental in building their career.

Qualifications

At Lumbre Media, we understand that internships are often students' first forays into their chosen field. Therefore, the Digital Marketing Intern is not expected to have management experience or several years of work experience. Instead, we prioritize curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or related fields (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge and passion for social media platforms, digital marketing, and content creation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) is a plus.
  • Graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Must have a personal computer to perform work on.
