Description

The Intern will collaborate with the Operations team to gain practical experience in various aspects of transportation management and logistics operations, while developing skills in a dynamic and supporting environment.  The intern will assist with different functions in one or more of our facilities, that include Life Sciences, Cold Chain, Automotive, Ecommerce, and Business to Business distribution.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing transportation data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement and cost-savings initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize transportation processes and meet customer requirements.
  • Utilize and become proficient with logistical tools and software such as TMS systems.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings and project discussions to gain insights into transportation operations and industry best practices.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, providing input and suggestions for improvement; support the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Perform other duties and special project as assigned by the transportation team.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in all engineering environments.
  • Perform calculations and preliminary data analyses to support design work.
  • Gain hands-on experience with logistical processes.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development related to the Logistics field.
  • Provide administrative support to the transportation teams as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure alignment on project goals and progress.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field
  • Strong academic performance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate preferred, but not required)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, & Outlook
