As a Sales Engineering Intern, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience at the intersection of engineering and sales, working closely with the team to drive equipment sales and support customer relationships. This internship is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical acumen, enhance your understanding of industry trends, and contribute to exciting projects while collaborating with a talented group of professionals.
This paid internship lasts a minimum of 10 weeks, with flexible start and end dates between May and August. You will be expected to be in/around the Indianapolis office Monday - Friday, approximately 40 hours per week.
What you'll do as a Sales Engineer Intern:
- Shadow the sales team, leveraging technical expertise and sales strategies to optimize equipment sales.
- Assist in selecting, ordering, and tracking materials for various projects.
- Expand your knowledge of products, industry trends, finance, competition, and business leadership.
- Conduct research on potential customers and identify key decision-makers.
- Update lead scoring and prospect data in Salesforce to ensure effective lead management.
- Participate in sales meetings and presentations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Prior exposure to HVAC equipment and fundamentals is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical design documents (duct layouts, piping schematics, riser diagrams).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A growth mindset dedicated to continuous learning and improvement.
- Preference will be given to local candidates; no relocation or housing stipend is available for this position.
- Must possess valid US work authorization and not require future employment visa sponsorship from Envelop Group.
- Willingness to travel to customer job sites, which may involve outdoor work and environments such as mechanical or equipment rooms. Site visits may expose the employee to varying weather conditions, moving machinery, heights, and other environmental factors.
Pre-hire requirements include a drug test, a driving report, evidence of insurability and a background check.
