The student worker will be dirctly supervised by the Success Coordinator and the Director of Workforce Development and will be trained and mentored during their time in the position. The MUSJC Student Ambassador plays a critical role in promoting Marian University's Saint Joseph's College. This position requires students to actively engage with prospective students, contribute to student life through event coordination, manage outreach campaigns, provide recruitment support, offer tutoring services, and oversee food pantry operations. The role is designed to enhance the ambassador’s skills in communication, organization, and leadership through hands-on experience.

This position offers valuable experience in public relations, event management, customer service, social media marketing, and leadership. Student Ambassadors will develop professional skills in a supportive environment that values growth and personal development.

Responsibilities

  1. Prospective Student Outreach
  • Serve as a main point of contact for prospective students, maintaining ongoing communication through emails, phone calls, and social media.
  • Conduct high school visits to build awareness of MUSJC programs and establish connections with potential students.
  1. Recruitment Support
  • Attend recruitment events, college fairs, and high school visits to promote MUSJC programs.
  • Assist with organizing and executing college events, such as Open Houses and Blue and Gold Days.
  • Prepare and distribute recruitment materials, ensuring sufficient supplies and organization.
  • Provide guided campus tours for prospective students and families, representing MUSJC with professionalism.
  1. Social Media Campaigns
  • Develop and execute two social media campaigns per month to promote student life, events, and academic programs.
  • Track engagement metrics, gather feedback, and adjust content to maximize impact and outreach.
  1. Event Coordination
  • Assist in the planning, organization, and promotion of social and recruitment events at MUSJC.
  • Take active roles in event setup, announcements, and post-event feedback collection to enhance future event success.
  1. Study Hall Support & Tutoring
  • Be present in designated study hall times, providing academic support and tutoring as needed.
  • Foster a supportive environment that encourages academic success among peers.
  1. Food Pantry Management
  • Oversee inventory, coordinate with volunteers, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Organize and manage food pantry resources for the benefit of the campus community.
  1. Professional Development
  • Complete food safety and customer service certifications within the first two months of employment.
  • Participate in skill-building workshops, including public speaking, event hosting, and leadership training.
