Joe’s Kids is a nonprofit pediatric therapy clinic dedicated to helping children reach their highest potential. Located in Warsaw, Indiana, Joe’s Kids provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and tutoring to children with special needs and developmental delays. Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions – Joe’s Kids Summer Internship
Full-Time | Approximately 40 Hours per Week
The Joe’s Kids Summer Internship offers college students a unique, hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in both the administrative and therapeutic aspects of a pediatric therapy clinic. Interns will divide their time equally between two key areas: Marketing & Event Planning and Therapy Support.
Marketing & Event Planning (Approximately 20 hours/week):

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of summer events and fundraising activities.

Create engaging content for social media platforms and marketing materials to promote Joe’s Kids’ mission and programs.

Help maintain and update donor databases and community outreach lists.

Support internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and promotional campaigns.

Participate in brainstorming sessions and assist with implementation of new outreach initiatives.
Therapy Support (Approximately 20 hours/week):

Act as an aide to physical, occupational, and speech therapists during individual and group therapy sessions.

Assist with setting up and cleaning up therapy equipment and materials.

Support therapists in managing session flow and ensuring a safe, positive environment for the children.

Engage with children in therapeutic play activities under the supervision of licensed staff.

Observe therapy techniques and gain insights into pediatric developmental care.
Interns will work closely with both the administrative and clinical teams, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how a nonprofit pediatric therapy clinic operates. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in healthcare, nonprofit management, marketing, child development, or event coordination.
Qualifications

Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Child Development, Pre-Occupational Therapy, Pre-Physical Therapy, or a similar discipline).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for working with children.

Ability to work collaboratively with both administrative and clinical staff in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Basic knowledge of social media platforms and an interest in marketing, event planning, or public relations.

Reliable, self-motivated, and organized, with a willingness to take initiative.

Comfortable interacting with children of varying abilities in a respectful and compassionate manner.

Must pass a background check and complete any required training prior to working with children.

Previous experience with children, volunteering, or nonprofit work is a plus but not required.
