Description

The summer Human Resources Intern is a position in the HR Department for Living Essentials, the creators of 5-hour ENERGY. This role will introduce the student to an industry-based position in the food and dietary supplement world by working closely with the Human Resources Manager, Sr Human Resources Generalist, and Human Resources Asccoiate to support day-to-day HR functions.  This internship program will give the candidate the opportunity to learn how to utilize an HRIS, maintain employees files in accordance with retention laws, support non-exempt employees with questions, and support in other areas as needed. The intern will be supervised by the HR Manager. There will be a 30, 60, and 90 day check-in with different leaders including Assistant Plant Manager, HR, and General Manager.

Responsibilities

 Answers employee questions about human resources policies and procedures as needed.
 Supports new hire orientation, including training and new hire paperwork.
 Supports employment area with scheduling interviews.
 Provides overall administrative support to the HR department, including maintaining, processing documentation and records.
 Responsible for daily evaluation of timecards.
 Process payroll for all Living Essentials employees bi-weekly, as well as weekly processing of temporary employees timecards to staffing agency.
 Supports payroll functions by track daily attendance of hourly associates.
 Maintain employee files within the HRIS.
 Assist and participate in HR events, such as benefits open enrollment, employee recognition, company cookouts and employee communications.
 Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR department.

Qualifications

Working towards a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Organizational Develoment / Leadership, HR Managment, or Industrial Psychology.

Must be experienced using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Must be capable of working with sensitive and confidential information.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
