Youth Program Educator

Description

Teachers at FBGNC will be responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment in our 2yr-5yr old in the Preschool classrooms and 6 to 12 in the School Age classroom.  Teachers will provide a caring and supportive program to all children and families within the community that addresses their unique child care needs, meets all regulatory standards required by FSSA Licensing Guidelines, Paths to Quality, CACFP and accreditation standards.  This position reports to the Preschool Director.

Responsibilities

1. Assist Lead Teacher in activities to meet physical, social, intellectual & emotional needs of children using the High Scope curriculum. In addition, assist in implementing an age appropriate dual language curriculum.
2. Follow weekly/monthly lesson plans, class schedules, and newsletters for children/parents provided by Lead Teacher
3. Follow school policies & procedures, maintaining centers, play areas, keeping rooms orderly and in safe conditions.
4. Follow established routines & provide positive guidance, record daily observations (note development of the child) for children's behavior and activities.
5. Assist Lead Teacher in scheduling parent conferences to discuss children's development and concern

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED/CDA Credential/Early Childhood Education Degree preferred

Bi-lingual preferred but not required

Must pass and maintain all required licensing and training
