Health Coordinator Assistant Internship

Description

Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center at Crooked Creek is looking for an Community Health Engagement Intern. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Intern has the responsibility to support the Dynamic Eating And Living (DEAL) Program of a community center. Individual will provide support to office operation, including connecting with residents, creating documentation such as surveys, program reports, data entry and database maintenance of connections made in the community.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for establishing trusting relationships with residents and their families while providing general support and encouragement for engagement
• Providing ongoing follow-up, basic motivational and connection with residents
• Promote other programming at Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center to residents
• Exhibit excellent working relations with residents, visitors and staff, effectively communicating FBGNC's mission
• Work closely with on-site raised beds to provide food for pantry and programming through-out organization
• Assist in operation of on-site food pantry

Qualifications

• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting
• Basic computer skills
• Experience working in a community-based setting for at least 1 to 2 years preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of some healthy living preferred
• Ability to initiate and maintain positive relationships with clients and other organizations
• Understand the community served-community connectedness
• Good communication skills
• Ability and willingness to provide encouragement, and motivation to clients
