Description
The Dana Leroyne Causey Family Empowerment Foundation is a non profit organization working with underserved youth and their families. We provide a variety of social service support to youth and their families using the Social Determinant of Health Framework to pinpoint and address the 5 major areas needed to increase individual, family and community well being.
This internship is for a student to work hand in hand with the Program Director of the Drug Free Community Youth Empowerment Coalition to assist youth in refraining from drug use, provide significant information on the impact of drugs to ones health and future and create a community network of support. The student will be mentored and guided daily in a varieyt of tasks, goals and projects including community engagement, program development and relationship building. The student will learn how to develop programs, work with community leaders (build relationships) project management skills, social media skills, program development, event planning and more
Responsibilities
Maintain a working Knowledge and rapport with community agencies, programs, and networks including county and city governmental agencies
Maintain records and data tracking
Create and file requires reports on a timely basis
Work with coalition staff and leaders to complete fiscal reports to county, state and federal agencies
Build awareness and positive perception of the coalition within the community
Produces and disseminates professional information to the community
Assist with coalition processes including meeting and event agenda development, workgroup oversight and sustainment activities
Engage in outreach, networking, and partnership with key community organizations and coalition representation
Ensure strategic plan and action plan implementation
Assist with coalition evaluation, monitoring, and updated assessment processes
Document and report progress, outcomes, and service provided on monthly, quarterly, or annual basis as required
Other duties as requested including the potential for occasional county or out‐of‐state travel
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree , professional experience equivalent or internship
Ability to work independently
Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills including creating presentations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, extracting information from the web, and general computer skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
