Description

The Easterseals Rehabilitation Center in Evansville, IN is a well-respected nonprofit operating locally since 1946.  Our mission is to provide exceptional services, education, outreach, and advocacy to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence.  If you have a special connection to our mission, please discuss it in your application!  Our services include Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Early Learning, Adult Day Program, Adult Residential, Employment, Aquatics, and Assistive Technologies.  The IT department supports the folks who deliver all of these services, and the computer equipment they use.

We are seeking an independent, self-motivated and detail oriented individual with a passion for Information Technology and customer service to join our current two-person IT team for the fall.

You will be responsible for assisting in the planning, diagnosis, repair, and installation of information technology, equipment, and systems.  Specifically, we are tranisitioning all our endpoints to Windows 11 and you will be part of this large effort, preparing and issuing devices and supporting users.  You will be supervised and mentored in these responsibilities by the IT Manager and the Director of Information Systems.  Job duties may be optimized and refined as your skills and interests become apparent, to maximize your learning experience and contribution to the organization.  You will have opportunities to engage with a wide range of real-world users, devices, and contexts across our organization.

Hours: Up to 20 hours/week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Can be flexible with work hours but must adhere to schedule once the schedule is set.

Responsibilities

· Troubleshoot computer equipment using common practices and research tools.

· Monitor cybersecurity threats, updates and repair computers and assist users

· Install computers, printers, networking components

· Maintain confidentiality and security in an environment governed by HIPAA

· Prioritize tasks according to guidance.

· Employ solutions in a virtualized server environment

· Participate as part of a team assisting users to achieve solutions

· Provide user support and document solutions

· Special projects around programming, data science, etc. may be available depending on your interest and skill levels.

· Independent travel may be required, as our team serves 11 locations and in-person support is sometimes needed; the two most distant locations are in Mt. Vernon and Chandler.

Qualifications

Applicants must be eligible for EARN Indiana.  Focus of study must be related to Information Technology. We are looking for an intern with exceptional customer service skills, solid troubleshooting skills, ability to work well in a team environment, excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Applicants should have experience with Windows 10 and 11. Experience with networking technologies and printer support is preferred.  Experience with administering the Microsoft 365 Cloud Suite is valued.  Applicants must have awareness of PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.  Applicant must have awareness of the PC industry’s current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in computer based information systems and technology.
