Description
We are a municpality offering an experience of the beind the scenes work and skills it takes to maintain a small town, it's streets, parks and water utility. The individual will train side-by-side our maintenance superintendent and eventually be given tasks to perform on their own. We hope to provide many skills not offered in a classroom setting, but in a hands on experience.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate must be at least 18 years of age or older, have a valid Indiana driver's license, have experience working hands-on at operating and maintaining light/heavy equipment such as deck mowers, front loaders, dump trucks, snow plows and chainsaw. This individual will maintain Town parks, buildings, perform minor street repair and any other jobs needed to maintain the operations of the organization. This individual needs to be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision. This individual will report to the Public Works Manager and Town Council.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will show up to work on time, be able to follow directions, ask questions and be eager to work outside and with different kinds of tools and equipment.
