Description
Electrical contractor celebrating 85th year in business is seeking to hire an intern to learn the basics of the electrical trade. The intern will have hands-on experience, at a minimum, how to cut and strip wire, wire devices within electrical boxes, conduit cutting and bending, packaging assemblies for shipment, prepping electrical panels for building, read electrical plans, and have a basic understanding of the National Electric Code and electrical safety. The intern will receive mentorship and training from an IBEW trained inside wireman with over 20 years of experience.
Responsibilities
At a minimum, the intern will work on the following tasks, measure and cut and strip wire, wire devices within electrical boxes, cut and bend conduit, assist with packaging assemblies for shipment, prepping electrical panels for building, read electrical plans, and have a basic understanding of the National Electric Code and electrical safety. These roles and responsibilities may be expanded based on the aptitude of the intern. This position is a hands-on type of role within our pre-fabrication shop and as such, has almost no administrative duties.
Qualifications
Driver's License and 2nd form of ID, drug-free, able to lift 40lbs, read a ruler/tape measurer, able to use basic hand tools, punctual.
