Our internship program is designed to provide a dynamic and hands-on learning experience, emphasizing professional development and skill-building in a supportive environment. This intern will work closely with our Director of Financial Analysis and Reporting and our Staff Accountant, who will be their supervisor and mentor throughout the program. This mentorship includes regular guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities to engage in impactful projects that align with Thrive's goals.
This internship offers training in project management, technical analysis, and problem-solving strategies. This intern will also participate in team collaborations to gain insight into organizational processes and decision-making. The mentorship aims to encourage interns to expand their knowledge, embrace challenges, and develop critical skills essential for their future careers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing, sending, and tracking invoices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using AR software (Financial Edge) and related systems.
- Record incoming payments and ensure proper documentation for reconciliation.
- Support account reconciliations and assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Collaborate with finance team members to resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Communicate professionally regarding overdue payments or outstanding invoices.
- Analyze payment trends and provide actionable insights to support improvement initiatives.
- Conduct data entry tasks with a focus on verifying the accuracy of financial transactions and records.
- Examine fiscal data to identify trends and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Participate in the review and refinement of financial policies and procedures to align with organizational goals.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including processing invoices and organizing financial documents.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a degree program related to finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with profound attention to detail
- Proficiency in financial software (preferred) and Microsoft Office applications
- Interest in gaining an experiential experience in fiscal operations.
