Senior Supervisor - Construction Trades

Description

The Senior Supervisor is a 12^th grade student who serves as a peer leader and mentor in the high school Building Trades Class.  The Senior Supervisor takes guidance from and assists the instructor in managing daily activities, promoting safety, site management, proper skill development and student management and reviews.  When appropriate, the Senior Supervisor will teach, lead and monitor small groups of peers.  This role is for advanced students demonstrating strong leadership, technical skills and passion and commitment to the construction field.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor in supervising student teams during site work
• Model proper tool use, safety practices and construction skills
• Help coordinate and plan daily tasks, tool distribution and material management
• Mentor and support newer or less-experienced students
• Lead by example with punctuality, professionalism and quality workmanship
• Monitor work progress and report issues or safety concerns to the instructor
• Help maintain clean, organized and safe learning and working environments
• Represent the program with positivity and pride

Qualifications

• 12th Grade Student
• Completed Intro to Construction with B or higher
• Completed 1 Year of Construction Trades with B or higher average
• Good standing with school conduct and attendance

• Strong understanding of construction safety and skills
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative and reliability
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
